Welcoming New Additions to the CHS Life Centre!
Dear friends and supporters of the CHS Life Centre!
As we step into 2024, it's with immense joy that we share some thrilling updates with you. Our CHS Life Centre community continues to flourish, and we are delighted to welcome five new tenants into our vibrant space. Here's a glimpse into the exciting additions enriching our ever-growing family:
1. LifeMatters Foundation The LifeMatters Foundation is passionate about making a difference to disadvantaged and at-risk Primary School learners. They provide literacy and numeracy intervention to under-performing Grade 2 and 3 learners as well as counselling, camps and Teenage Awareness programmes.Their alignment with our centre’s mission is remarkable, especially considering their focus on communities adjacent to our own.
2. The Connect Group Led by Kayla-Tess Pattenden Connect Group counselling center offers holistic individual & family therapy, supervision and statutory support to families across the Mother City! We are thrilled to have Kayla and her team in our space and look forward to partnering in 2024.
3. Start to Stop: Under the leadership of Gideon Williams, Start to Stop provides tailored addiction services, catering to both inpatient and outpatient needs across Cape Town. We're thrilled to host their one-on-one support and outpatient classes, furthering our commitment to holistic well-being.
4. Inner-Healing Counselling School Excitement is in the air as we prepare to host and partner with Inner-Healing Counselling School, a brand-new initiative brought to life by Deep Healing Counselling. Set to kick off in March, our Auditorium will come alive every Tuesday evening with accredited Christian counselling sessions, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for over 50 eager students.
5. New Beginnings Ironing Services: Founded by two remarkable ladies driven by passion and purpose, New Beginnings Ironing Services offers meticulous care for your clothing needs. Their presence adds a touch of entrepreneurial spirit to our centre, embodying the essence of community empowerment. Please do support them!
While we celebrate these new partnerships, we're equally thrilled to report the continued success of our existing tenants and the full operation of our beloved cafe, The Table. The daily energy through our centre continues to be vibrant as we host various events, breakfast gatherings, and church activities.
One of our highlight moments was hosting our inaugural community lunch for our unhoused neighbours, an event that epitomized the spirit of togetherness and compassion. This is a beautiful time that fosters meaningful connections over shared meals, our community lunches run on the last Sunday of each month.
Looking ahead, our team is diligently working towards completing the CHS Life Centre's construction this year. Plans to enhance our facilities, including obtaining planning permission for car park development and implementing air conditioning and storage spaces, are well underway.
Additionally, we're excited to unveil other initiatives in the pipeline through future blog posts.
Thank you for all your support and we look forward to keeping you informed of what God is doing through the CHS Life Centre throughout 2024.
Warm regards,
Mark Slessenger
CHS Life Centre Director
